Aftercare for Botox and fillers: the do’s and don’ts

The outcome of a treatment does not depend only on the injection: what you do afterwards matters too. These are general guidelines; always follow the specific instructions your doctor gives you.

After Botox

  • Avoid rubbing or pressing the treated area during the first hours.
  • Skip intense exercise and extreme heat for the first 24 hours.
  • Stay upright for about 4 hours; avoid lying face down that night.
  • You may apply makeup gently after a few hours, as advised.

After fillers

  • Some swelling and occasionally small bruises for a few days are normal.
  • Apply gentle cold if advised, without pressing.
  • Avoid sauna, intense heat and strong exercise for 24–48 hours.
  • Do not massage the area unless your doctor tells you to.
